We are excited and proud to announce the library now has a new logo! Petersburgh Public Library and Mrs. Wallace’s Graphic Design class at Berlin High School have been working together for the past few months in designing a logo specifically for the library that can represent us on our social media accounts (Facebook, website, etc.) in addition to being used on all other marketing materials for the library. After months of hard work by the students, one student’s design was chosen by the Library Board of Trustees to represent the library.
Isaiah Christensen, a 12th grader at Berlin High School, was the finalist whose design was chosen. The class was asked to design a logo that was modern and would represent the library now and into the future, but would pull elements from the Petersburgh Town Seal to keep a consistency within the town departments. Isaiah’s design embodied what we were looking for and was approved by the Library Board of Trustees and the Town of Petersburgh.
The library staff and the Berlin Art Department have truly enjoyed working together on this project. It not only benefited the library, but created a sense of ownership between the teens in the class and the community that they live in. Due to the success of this endeavor, Petersburgh Library and the Berlin High School Art Department will continue to look for opportunities to work together with the teens in our community. Thank you to all the students for working with us!
